Study in South Africa: Scholarships are available for the Masters in Mathematics Science Application in South Africa. The Scholarships are provided by African Institute for Mathematical Science (AIMS). AIMS South Africa is recruiting for the January (2023) Intake open to students from the SADC region. The January intake of the AIMS Structured Master’s in Mathematical Sciences is open to students following the South African academic calendar (January to December). Preference will be given to South African nationals. Applicants should hold, or anticipate completing by the start date of the AIMS course, a 4-year university degree in mathematics, or any science or engineering subject with a significant mathematics component. An applicant’s record should demonstrate strong aptitude in mathematics. The course overview lists the courses which form part of this programme.
Selection process
Each applicant’s dossier will be evaluated in the light of the prior educational opportunities available to her or him. Potential applicants must be able to demonstrate both a high degree of motivation, and the preparation and ability required to complete the course successfully.
Students are strongly advised to apply by 10 November. Applicants who are accepted on to the programme will be notified by late November. Student applications received during the second half of November and December will be considered for places which may still be vacant. Late applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
Financial assistance
There will be no course fee for successful applicants and full bursaries covering tuition, accommodation, meals and travel costs will be awarded to successful applicants.
