"Congratulations to Florence Ramoni Tagini on being #ChosenForChevening.
She will undertake her studies at the University of Sussex, pursuing an LLM in International Law.
We wish her and all our six other scholars including our scholar from Nauru Octavian A Detenamo, the very best as they prepare to embark on their Chevening Journey in the UK 🇬🇧
For Florence, she is now a Chevening Scholar.
"I am now a Chevening scholar! This is a dream come true, and I am savouring this moment. I am reminded of God’s Word that with Him nothing is impossible. I give him praise and glory!
"UK Government and FCDO you are a blessing to me! Thank you for this tremendous opportunity to soar to greater heights. I am forever grateful for this prestigious Chevening award.
"I acknowledge my family, whose pursuit of education gave me the permission to pursue my own. Dr Phil my husband, who has displayed excellence and motivated me to keep chasing my dreams. My late brother, Dr Johnson, who pursued his Master’s Degree even when he was seriously sick with cancer in 2021. You have been my inspiration to persevere despite the odds.
"My friends and Cheveners, Elma, Brian and Maito'o, I appreciate your perspective and guidance during the application process.
"To my family and friends who stood by me and believed in me, I heartily thank you – we got this.
"I am excited to study International Law LLM at the University of Sussex in England. I am eager to explore international law responses to current global issues. I can’t wait to engage with the global Chevening network of leading thinkers, to learn from them, share my experiences and forge life-long relationships.
"I hope to return home and share my Chevening journey with other aspiring Solomon Islanders, especially women, so that they too can pursue their education dreams and overcome stereotypes.
"UK I see you. Chosen for Chevening!"
