Program Overview:
The Schwarzman Scholars program offers the world’s top students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and professional networks through a one-year Master’s Degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing. This prestigious university provides a unique setting where students live and study together in the state-of-the-art Schwarzman College, with all classes conducted in English.
Inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship, the Schwarzman Scholars program is designed to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Supported by a $450 million endowment, the program will annually select up to 200 scholars from around the world, providing them with a comprehensive scholarship for a year of academic and cultural immersion.

Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Background: Undergraduate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. Current undergraduate students must complete all degree requirements before orientation.
Age: 18 to 28 years old as of August 1, 2023.
Citizenship: Open to all nationalities (except Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao).
Language Proficiency: Strong English skills required. Non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores, unless they graduated from an institution where English was the primary language of instruction for at least three years.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Interview Expenses: Economy class travel, meals, and one night of hotel accommodation for semi-finalist interviews.
- Program Coverage: Tuition and fees, room and board, travel to and from Beijing, in-country study tour, course books and supplies, Lenovo laptop and smartphone, health insurance, and a personal stipend.
Duration: 1 year
