Maastricht University in the Netherlands is offering the UM Global Studies Scholarship for outstanding students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree in Global Studies. The fully funded scholarship supports talented applicants who demonstrate strong academic performance and the potential to contribute to international communities through education and leadership.
The Bachelor of Global Studies is an interdisciplinary programme that combines several fields of study to help students understand worldwide social, political, economic, and environmental challenges. Students will study subjects related to global governance, politics, sustainability, economics, and culture while developing research, communication, and analytical skills through practical learning experiences.

Scholarship Benefits
The UM Global Studies Scholarship provides complete financial support for the entire duration of the programme.
The scholarship package includes:
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Living allowance of €15,925 per academic year
- Monthly financial support for accommodation and daily expenses
- Health and liability insurance
- Visa and residence permit application costs
- Participation in the Pre-Academic Training programme
- Access to the International Student Ambassador Programme (ISAP)
- Guaranteed student accommodation
Although accommodation is provided, students should note that international travel expenses to the Netherlands are not covered under the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must come from countries listed under the OECD Official Development Assistance (ODA) category and must not hold dual nationality from European Economic Area countries or other non-eligible nations.
Candidates are required to meet Maastricht University admission requirements for the Global Studies programme and satisfy Dutch visa and residence permit conditions. Applicants should also be under 35 years of age and must not already possess a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.

Students must first apply for admission to the Bachelor of Global Studies programme through Studielink to obtain their Maastricht University student ID.
After completing the admission process, applicants can access the online scholarship application portal and upload all required documents in PDF or Word format. Since applications can only be submitted once, students are encouraged to carefully review all information before final submission.
