The Solomon Islands National University SINU has officially commenced Semester 2 on Monday 16th August 2021.

Against the challenge of recruiting some 240 staff to replace those whose employment contracts expired at the end of June 2021, SINU has managed the recruitment process tactfully, seamlessly and smoothly. Moreover, SINU Management has been working diligently to ensure that the recruitment process is conducted per the Human Resources (HR) Policy and the Minimum Qualification Requirements (MQR).
To date, the recruitment process for the Faculty of Education and Humanities (FEH); Faculty of Nursing Medicine and Health Sciences; Faculty of Business and Tourism and; Faculty of Science and Technology have been completed, with contracts offered and signed, and employment commenced without delay. The Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries recruitment process has also been completed, with contracts offered and envisaged to be signed by close of business (COB) this Friday 20th August 2021.
Going forward, SINU is seriously working towards doing away with the recruitment and contracting of part-time lecturers and other employees.
The recruitment process for Support Services Departments is also ongoing and envisaged to be completed with contracts offered and signed by close of business this Friday 20th August 2021.
SINU is also pleased to announce that in Semester 2, it is offering exciting programs including the first-ever Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Change which started on 10th August 2021 with 14 pioneer students and; a Master of Science in Natural Resources Management starting next week. Another new exciting program that commenced last week is a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
SINU continuously strives to deliver on its mandate in raising the standard of education, training and research in the Solomon Islands and the region.
