About
The Monash Graduate Impact 2030 Scholarship is awarded to research students whose work aligns with one of Monash University's Global Challenges — such as Thriving Communities, Climate Change, and Geopolitical Security — as set out in the university's Impact 2030 strategy. The scholarship helps cover living costs while studying at a Monash campus in Australia.
Programs
Two scholarships are awarded each year, one in each of the following streams:
- Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) disciplines
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines
The scholarship is also open to students undertaking Joint Research Awards where Monash University is the home institution.
Benefits

- A relocation allowance, if eligible
Eligibility
Applicants must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- An Australian permanent resident
- An Australian humanitarian visa holder
- An international student
Applicants must also:
- Have submitted a scholarship application in the current year
- Be undertaking research aligned with one of the University Global Challenges outlined in Impact 2030
- Meet Monash's competitive scholarship selection process requirements
- Meet Monash's English language proficiency requirements
Application Requirements
- No separate scholarship application form is required — eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships when applying for their course
- Selection is highly competitive, based on academic excellence, research outputs, and prior research experience
- The standard RTP Scholarship terms and conditions apply, except where noted in the eligibility criteria above
Application Process
- Submit your graduate research course application (or apply directly if already enrolled) through the Monash myApp Portal — this covers both course admission and scholarship consideration.
- No need to select this scholarship specifically — eligible applicants are automatically considered.
- This scholarship is awarded only in the 31 October scholarship round.
- Eligible applicants from Rounds 1–4 (same year) are automatically considered for nomination by the relevant faculty.
- Carefully review requirements for your chosen scholarship and ensure your application is submitted by the deadline.
